A delegation of nearby residents came before council in February 2015 to request council take action to end the clothing optional usage. Council received but did not address a letter from a legal firm hired by the homeowners. In the letter, Larry Halbauer of Messner Kenney LLP reminded council of resident concerns that presence of the nude beach has reduced the value of their property, and their desire for council to post signage that nudity is prohibited. Jakubeit said that council has not come to a final decision and is only investigating options. I am sure the neighbourhood will circle back and think of their next steps and next options, said Jakubeit, noting that while council received a number of letters from naturists, it also got 10 to 20 letters from the neighbourhood as well.
