At the same time, I support those Anglican bishops elsewhere in Africa (and my own diocesan) who also have drawn a line in the sand on this issue. This said, there are groups which proclaim that they do not belong to any denomination. This is misleading and self-deceptive. Any congregation that acknowledges no higher authority (such as that of a synod), and any grouping of local churches that has no ties with any other grouping, is a denomination by itself. Its claim to be non-denominational is false, and it is deceiving its own members.
