I guess the idea that the nudism beach was designed for people not minding each other’s nudity finally settled in and I removed my bikini bottom after some minutes of cautious topless sunbathing.

I have always been curious about the ways and philosophy of nudists, or naturalists, as they are sometimes referred to these days. I cannot say that I know much about their history, but whenever I have a chance of learning something new about them, I take it to the fullest.

I live in a small town where nudism beach his something unheard of, and I have very few persons among my friends who really share my interest in nudism, but here is my story of how I came to be one of its followers. It all started quite unexpectedly, and as I can now see it was but a lucky series of events that brought me and my friends to one of the most marvelous places and let us spend some jolly good time on a nudism beach.
It was in late spring and we were invited to a barbecue party with the new acquaintances of one of my friends. When I say we I mean me and three of my best college friends. We always spend summer vacations together, but it was long before they started and all the four of us were supposed to be tearing our knuckles down and get ready for the examinations. What we initially planned was to take our textbooks and notes with us to the picnic party and spend as much time studying as we could. Quite naturally, when it came down to unpacking our staff and getting ready for the barbecue, the pulp heaps were left behind and totally neglected in our rucksacks.
Norma, the girl whose new friends – to be more precise, her new boyfriend and his company – was quite thrilled to devote as much time to socializing with the new people that drilling routine was totally left over. After a couple of beers we could think of nothing but dancing our butts off to the hip tunes played by the guy who took up the role of DJ. His name was Paul as I can still remember, and he looked cuter with every new cocktail I had. After several hours of hard outdoor partying he started to look like a total buster to me. Unfortunately, he paid little attention to the girls around him and too much attention to the discs he was spinning. I was getting pretty desperate after a while.
And it was then when this unexpected and totally mind-blowing invitation came from one of the girls from Norma’s new company – she suggested that we all get packed and drive some miles down the river where she knew there was a nudism beach. Although all of us were pretty light-headed with the booze we’d all had, the outburst of somewhat nervous laugh from me and my friends was the response to that. No one actually reciprocated our amusement, and I could see that the people in our new company were nodding quite thoughtfully to that. And the DJ guy was a great deal enthusiastic about the proposition!
Norma’s new boyfriend, Alan, called her aside and had a few words with her. We could see our friend’s facial expression changing from bemused to puzzled and even alarmed, and when she approached us she breathed out somewhat wheezily that Alan’s company consisted of confirmed nudists and that we were expected to join in to pass the test and prove we could make the part of this crowd – and it was very important for Norma that we did. I did not protest a lot, seeing that I wanted to integrate into the company most badly myself and catch the eye of that handsome DJ boy – whereas two of our other friends seemed none too enthusiastic to follow the guys to a nudism beach. It took me and Norma quite some while and some cocktails to persuade the girls join us in this excursion. When we finally got packed into the cars and they drove us to the location, we discovered that either the quantity of spirits, or the spirit of quantity contributed to our letting go of our stiffness.
Norma was the first one to jump out of her summer dress, revealing the total absence of lingerie. I guess for her that was like plunging into cold water headfirst. It took me some more time to get accustomed to the idea that everyone would be able to see me naked, but I guess the idea that the nudism beach was designed for people not minding each other’s nudity finally settled in and I removed my bikini bottom after some minutes of cautious topless sunbathing.
Contrary to what I could figure out it would be, our socializing with the new people was not in the least impeded by the absence of clothing. We chatted and had our laughs just as much as we had before. I cannot say it helped me particularly win the attention of the guy I had my eye on, but the fact that we came to share this common passion for nudism with time helped me to know him better and realize he was not the guy I was looking for.
That day, however, we really had more fun than we’d bargained for, plus though I cannot say that I totally converted from textile beaching to nudism, I definitely see no problem stripping down on a beach in a company of people who share these viewpoints.

NO WAY, I am a little younger than you but less than you can count on one hand. I have been an active nudist since I was very young. I was fortunate to have been raised in a nudist family and I raised a clothing optional family myself. I am beginning some work with TNS and others to try to force open some local beaches that were once tolerated as clothing optional but have since been cracked down on by textiles. I live in Northwest Florida, there is only one legal nude beach in the entire state with more shoreline than California. The desire to get stripped at a nude beach and the fear of letting the people around you see you naked...Both of these feelings are strong – though the eagerness to expose the most secret corners of your body to the caressing rays of sun is still stronger.
